About Me
I was born in Silver City, New Mexico and raised in Morenci, Arizona. The early days of my life were spent in rural areas of our nation that are too often left out of the larger conversation. I am so lucky that my upbringing began in areas that were small, and familiar. I knew everyone in my hometown, and was able to grow up in a community that cared about human connection.
Much of who I am today is because of where I came from. I am immensely proud of that.
I currently reside in the Denver area, and am living my dream of getting out of small town USA, and creating a life in a city that is full of people who have a story to tell. As a journalist, I am heavily interested in the experiences of those around me, and how those experiences contribute to the narrative of humanity.
In my spare time, I love to go running and stay active. I am a movie buff and obsessed with anything pertaining to pop culture. I will never turn down a good cup of coffee, and prefer to spend my Saturday nights either at home in baggy sweatpants, or at the Cheesecake Factory with superb company.
I am surrounded by the best family anyone could have. My parents and siblings consistently make me laugh, and keep life interesting. Along with that is a long line of extended family whom I cherish and prefer to spend free time with any chance I get.
I am a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. During my time at Cronkite, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the Phoenix community and illuminating stories that relate to pop culture, art, politics, and small businesses in the area. I have also had the opportunity to speak with Arizonans all around the state to understand what they want out of the news, and how the misinformation that surrounds our country today affects their day-to-day lives.

My final semester at the Cronkite School was spent in Los Angeles, California in an immersion program where I had the opportunity to work as an arts and culture reporter in the city for Arizona PBS. I covered everything from fur in fashion, to Latino representation in film. All while getting to know and love the city, and all it has to offer.
I hope to continue to illuminate stories that allow for an escape from stressful news and shine a light on the good that exists in our society. I also hope to highlight the passion that exists within pop culture happenings and creations, while building a relationship with my audience that goes beyond the television screen.
